Other paths: Soviets and Americans, 1917-1920 (by David w. McFadden)  

Between 1917 and 1920 the Bolshevik revolution to the final Declaration of the US opposition to Bolshevik Russia and the United States sought ways of significant interactions between the two nations in the absence of diplomatic relations official. During these years, extensive discussion on a variety of serious problems, military cooperation and economic relations to the full resolution of the political and military conflicts. At the same time, extensive debate took place in the two countries on the nature of the relations between them. As shown the McFadden in this book leading-edge, based on research in the archives Soviet as well as previously unused private collections and archives of the Government in the United States and Britain, a surprising number of concrete agreements have been reached between the two countries. Continued operation of the American Red Cross in Russia, the transfer of war material of the Russian army for the Americans, the sale of strategic supplies of platinum in the United States, by the Bolsheviks and decrees of the exemption of a number of US companies of nationalization of the Soviet Government.
