Ebook Creation - How to Write Your First Ebook, Quickly and Easily

By Sean Mize

Now that you have chosen your product, you are going to begin to write about it. Now, I am going to teach you the basics of writing your very first informational product. If you haven’t written much recently, you will probably have to rewrite it several times until it is a quality product. Remember you still have the option of selling some affiliate products from Clickbank while you are getting going. Once you have your product up and running, then you can shift your focus from Clickbank products to your own. In fact, once you have your own product, you can make it available on Clickbank so others can market your product for you.

But for now I am assuming that you are going to write your own product, so that is what we will start on now.

You must choose one of the topics you have outlined. Don’t throw out the ones you are not going to use. They will be great outlines for your second informational ebook!

I assume that you have followed the first two steps, writing about 10 areas where you have knowledge, and breaking those down into at least 3 sections each. So you have roughly 30 specific areas about which to write. The next step is to take each of these areas and write out at least 5 things you can write about each of the sections---so you will have about 10 areas of knowledge, 30 sections of information, and 150 individual ideas.

Now look at your list. Do you think you can write a paragraph or two about each of the individual ideas you have marked? Of course you can! And if you write a full page about each individual idea, and you should be able to, you will have around 150 pages of content!

Now, I will have to say this now. It is far more important that everything you write is useful information that will truly help convey from you to the reader (the purchaser or your book) your expertise, than to write a long book. It would be better to write a book that has 30 pages but is worth $100 to the reader than to write a 200 page treatise that is only worth $10, if that.

I want you to write as if you were personally going to pay $30 to $100 for the ideas you are writing down. Now I know that it is hard for you to think they are all worth $30 to $100, but ask yourself this, would you have paid that much in advance, if you had known in one book you could learn everything it has taken you a lifetime to accumulate?

Hopefully you say yes here; if you do not you are probably not writing about something about which you have a special knowledge. Keep in mind you are writing a book about a topic where you have more knowledge than the average individual.

At this point, just start writing. Type all the topics, areas of knowledge, sections, and individual ideas into a word processing program such as Word. The reason you are going to type them all in now is so that you can start by writing about one particular idea at a time, and actually type it into the program. You do not need to write from the beginning to the end. Write about each idea as it is exciting to you. So today if there are some specific ideas that you feel inspired to write about, write about them. Each day you will see progress as the book grows from 5 pages to 10 pages and on and on.

In fact, once you have just 5 or 10 pages, you can take the part you have just written and use it as a free giveaway, so potential customers can see the quality of your work. But that step is for later.

This has been an excerpt from ”15 Steps to Internet Success” .

Writing An Ebook – Learning Step By Step

by: Vickie J Scanlon

They say the best way to making money on the Internet, is to create your own Ebook. Wow! That’s a simple statement, but – do you know what is involved. I’ll try to explain what I have learned and I am learning while I’m creating my own Ebook.

Brainstorming

If you know what you want to create, you’ve already on your way. But, if you’re not sure what information you have stored in your years of living – well, it can be difficult.

I’ve found the best way to brainstorm is to write your ideas, experiences and knowledge down on a piece of paper – then do research to determine what people are looking for on the net.

Research

To determine if your product, idea, or info-knowledge will fly you must do research. Go to Wordtracker or Overture and see how many times people in the month were looking for what you want to write about.

This will give you an idea if it is a viable product. Also do a straight search in Google and Yahoo for your keywords, and see what turns up. Investigate some of the sites, you may be surprised that you have a completely slant on the information you want to present in an E-book – which is a good thing.

Writing

If you think your ebook may fly, then it is time to write. Create it in html or a txt format, using Word or Notepad. Then download Gymnast – it’s free (you can find it on my site http://www.myaffiliateplace.biz/Affiliate_PromoteTools.htm). This will create your ebook. But – before you pull it into a PDF, be sure to proofread your material.

Next, you can create an Ebook cover. Yes, I know, you’re on a tight budget, so . . .look to http://www.onlinewebcreations.com -- they have some free ebook covers that you can choose from, and an on-line tool in which you can add the title of the book onto the Ebook cover.

If you don’t find these free ebook covers to your liking then you can purchase software to create your own ebook cover or pay someone else to do it for you. Once you have your ebook completed, it is time to get it out to the masses.

I would suggest submitting your ebook to Clickbank or Payloadz. However, if this is your first ebook, I would strongly suggest that you give Payloadz a closer look. From my own research – it is reasonable, you upload your ebook to their server (which eliminates your need to make your ebook available to the customer), and the payment goes through your Paypal account.

As to promotion, I will leave that to you to research.

How to Write Your First Ebook

by: Terri Seymour

One of the best ways to build your online income is by writing & distributing ebooks. Ebooks can be a very effective tool for marketing your business and they can also be big money makers. Ebooks are also a useful resource for whatever information you are looking for.

There are a few things you should remember if you are going to write an ebook.

1. Just as your ezine should not be a giant ad, nor should your ebook. Be sure to fill it full of useful and valuable information.

2. Your ebook should be compiled in a simple, yet professional design. Make your ebook look good, but do not overdo. Make sure people can maneuver around the book with ease.

3. Take the time to do the research and write an effective and informative ebook. Your ebook will be circulating around the web and will say a great deal about you and your business.

4. Ebooks are a great giveaway for your visitors and/or subscribers. Everyone is looking for useful information which can be found in ebooks.

5. You might want to use your first ebook as a giveaway. This will entice more people to read your ebook, which in turn will get more people to see how good it is. When you do write your first ebook to sell, you will have already established your reputation for writing a useful and informative ebook.

6. You do not have to be a writer to write an ebook. Just as with articles, all you need to do is gather, organize and outline your information. Always add resources and links when applicable. A good ebook for giveaway can be as simple as a collection of your articles or the articles of other authors.

7. You do not need any expensive software to make your ebook. Simply write your ebook in Word or similar program and then convert the file to pdf. PDF can be read on all computers as opposed to exe. You can find more info on this in our free tutorial on making money with ebooks.

8. After you finish your ebook, you want to start promoting it. Add it to your website, put it in your email sigtag, submit it to as many websites and directories that you can find, add it to your article resource box, announce it on message boards and email discussion lists where allowed, make a separate web page for it and submit the page to search engines, add it to your ezine welcome letter as a free bonus. The possibilities are endless if you use your imagination and let as many people know about your ebook as possible. Be sure to encourage people to also give it to their subscribers/visitors as a free gift.

9. Make sure you have contact links listed in your ebook so people can easily contact you or visit your website. Also, be sure to have your ezine and subscribe address listed.

10. Everyone can find ebooks useful not only for finding the information they seek, but for promoting their business and website as well as establishing a solid reputation. They are also big moneymakers and just about anyone can write and profit from a carefully and effectively done ebook.

Make it fun, interesting and believe in yourself and you will produce a very successful ebook!

You Too Can Write A How-To Book (or eBook)

by: Shaun Fawcett

Are you aware that how-to books are among the easiest books to write? Yes, that’s right, they really are!

After all, how hard can it be to write about something you already know really well, something that you are passionate about? Heck, you may not even need to do any research! What other kind of author has that luxury?

As I say on my ebook on the subject, I am a firm believer that 99% of people who have specific knowledge of ANY subject, coupled with a passion to share that knowledge with others, are natural how-to authors.

In fact, as I state in the Introduction to my book…

“If you can organize your thoughts enough to explain something to someone, and then write that down in simple step-by-step terms, you too can be a how-to author.”

That’s right. How-to books can be written by anyone who is capable of writing down what they are “speaking” as they explain to someone all about something that is near and dear to their heart.

It really is that simple. And the beauty of writing how-to books is that you already have the knowledge inside of you!

Most how-to books are written by “experts” in a particular subject. The cool part about this is that each and every one of us is an expert in some, or many areas! And that includes you!

YES, YOU ARE An Expert…

Really, you are! You possess a unique combination of knowledge and valuable life experience that no one else on this planet possesses. In fact, you are the only one truly qualified to write about your knowledge and experience from your own unique perspective.

And that last phrase — “from your own unique perspective” — is a very important one. It’s important because “how-to” books are all about people sharing their individual unique take on something. And it really doesn’t matter what that something is.

Think about it. What are your big interests and/or activities in life? What’s your favorite hobby, or your preferred sport or leisure activity. What do you excel in at the office? What books and magazines do you seek out? What subjects are guaranteed to grab your attention in any situation, or when depicted in the media? What are you good at - at work and/or at play? On what subjects do friends, family members, and co-workers constantly seek your advice and/or expertise? Do you have valuable life experience to bring to the table?

Now that you’ve thought about it, I bet you’re beginning to realize that you are indeed an “expert” on numerous subjects — aren’t you?

Seriously, whether you’re an avid gardener, a fanatical sports fan, an obsessed collector of “stuff”, a jazz pianist, a weekend carpenter, or a card maker

Build a Kids Ebook

by: Louis Madison

I will not lie. This was my first ebook. It’s a 51 page kids coloring ebook. This is a children’s coloring ebook for the beginners to learn basic shapes, colors, and numbers.

My design was to build a book that children could learn these things without a bunch of other stuff in the book. So I built a kids coloring e-book with simple activities that repeatedly have children using colors, counting numbers, and making shapes.

Building the kids coloring ebook took me quite a bit of time since I’ve never done one before. I will share some things so you do not have to go through learning process. This will save you time since you do not have to figure it out.

· Whatever program you use to create your text and graphics you will need to convert over to a PDF file. Why a PDF file? I had that same question when I started. The main reason is the fact that a PDF file is recognized by so many operating systems. You want people no matter what system their using to be able to get your ebook.

· You should use a text editor that’s capable of installing graphics along with your text. Do not create your text in a photo program. The files will be too big. This page is 21k up to this point. In a photo program saved as a JPEG the file is 324K. Imagine how big 51 pages would be. Keep it small and simple. Easy to download.

· Building the kids coloring ebook cover. If you’re good with graphics you can create your own ebook cover in a graphics program. If you’re not good with graphics you can still create one but it takes time. I cannot put all the graphics to show you how to do the kids coloring ebook cover here in this article. Please visit my web site http://fun-working-from-home.com. Go to the build an ebook page and click on the create an e-book cover in the second paragraph. Then you will get picture-by-picture, step-by-step instructions on building your book cover.

· Here’s the basic idea of what you need to do. Use a program that allows you to add lines on a page. Make a rectangle that looks like the front of a book. Now picture the book being tilted slightly towards you at the top. Add some lines that will give you the illusion it’s a book. Now add your title and whatever you want on the front of the book. Use a color that could be seen easy. That’s the best I can explain making the kids coloring ebook cover here.

· Now for the important part. What to put in it? It does not have to be a kids coloring ebook. You could make a children’s reading ebook or whatever your heart desires. Write about what you know.

On my web site I have links to a free PDF converter, text editor /office suite, and a PDF reader. No strings attached. Free for you to download. If you’re in need of any of these you can go to my web site in the author’s Bio. On my build an ebook page, eighth paragraph, use the link that says write about their true passion. You will be brought to a page that has the links for all of these free items. I hope this helps and you have great success on your ebook.

How to Start Writing an Ebook and Finish It Fast!

by: Audrey Ly

Unless you can afford to hire a ghostwriter, you probably need to write the ebook yourself if you have decided to start making serious money as an information publisher. The hardest part of writing an ebook is actually sit down and start to write. When I have decided finally to write an ebook, I find it extremely difficult to write my very first chapter. I have done the research and reading up on my topic, but the thought of writing it down scares the hell out of me. I keep procrastinating and wasting time instead of writing that first chapter. Does this happen to you? I bet it happens to most new writers. What we should avoid is thinking of the end product of producing a book. The thought of completing the whole ebook seems like an impossible task. That's why you have to break it down into smaller manageable tasks. Here's a simple 7-step procedure to start writing your ebook and finish it!

However, before going into the first step, I need to emphasized that your attitude is important to your success. You have to be confident that you can finish the task at hand. Do not fear that you don't know enough to write an ebook, you do! You know more that you think, seriously.

Ok, now let's start.

Step 1: Niche It

Choose a topic which appeals to you and which you can see yourself spending time researching and writing it in the next couple of days. The trick here is choose a niche. Do not write a book which appeals to everyone. Focus on a specific area and you are on your way to success. Why? Because when you target a niche market, you already have a pre-qualified market ready to buy your products.

Step 2 : Research It

After choosing a specific area of interest as the topic of your ebook, the next step is to spend a reasonable amount of time to research on that topic. How much time, you ask? It really depends on how much you already know about the topic. What is important here is you want to be an expert in your chosen niche. At this stage, it is easy to get lost among the huge bank of information on the internet. So it is very important to get organized. I find this method extremely helpful, that is getting a 3-ring binder with a set of divider tabs. File your research files and notes in the relevant tabs as you go along. When you start writing your book, you won't have to research everywhere for your notes. This is a great time saver.

Step 3: Table It

Now that you have a good idea of what you are going to write, the next important step is to write a detailed outline of your ebook. This is the single most important step in the whole ebook writing process. To get your ebook well written and finish it on time, you need to spend some time to think of your ebook outline. The outline serves as the backbone of your ebook. It represents your ideas and flow of thoughts. Write the outline as detail as possible.

Step 4: Write It

Ok, finally, we get down to writing the ebook itself. Before you start writing, you have to have a good picture of your readers, the people who are going to read your ebook. Picture your perfect audience for your ebook and write to him/her! Write to your reader, not for your reader. Write as if you are talking to the person. Use the language as you would talking to your friend. Forget about having the proper grammar and linguistic structures for your paragraphs. Just get your thoughts and ideas down! If you are stuck in a particular chapter, move on to the next. Don't force yourself to write that chapter and slow down the whole writing process. It is easier to come back and try writing that chapter again. You may have new thoughts and ideas which can help you to proceed. An important point to remember here is DO NOT EDIT! Turn off your self-editing machine and just focus on writing.

Step 5: Edit It

Now this is the time to for content edit. Does you ebook look too thin? If so, go out and get more relevant information. If you can't find any, you may want to insert an article on the topic area you have difficulty finding information. This is one way successful writers add more 'meat' to their ebook. The other thing to edit is excessive and repetitive words. Remember, simplicity is the key. Forget about jargons and technicalities. Use common and simple language. You won't want your reader go looking up dictionary while reading your book.

Step 6: Polish It

Now you have done editing your ebook, it is time to polish it. Polishing here means adding extra features to make your ebook presentable. For example, adding additional pages, adding your copyright page, changing your title, adding borders, adding header and footer, adding the table of contents. Take a look at any good ebooks already in the market and learn from them.

Step 7: Publish It

Now finally, you have your completed ebook in front of you. How do you feel? Do you feel a tremendous sense of accomplishment and pride? I know I did. Words just can't express how I felt. It is worth all the hard work put into it. Now at this stage, you have to make sure you have a great title for your ebook. Great titles sells, not your content. Period. Get yourself a professional sales copy and ebook cover, and you are on your way to first ebook riches!

To conclude, anyone, including yourself, can write an ebook. It does not need to be difficult. All you need is to follow the 7-step plan above. For more great information on the easy 7-step procedure on writing your ebook fast, please visit The Newbies' Hub at http://www.newbieshub.com.

Write Your Ebook in 5 Easy Steps

by: Elliot Hanson

Ebooks are one of the best ways to make money on the Internet right now. These days it seems everyone has their own ebook but it's true, everyone has at least one ebook inside of them.

Whatever you do in life and wherever you go, you build and absorb knowledge as you go about your daily life. Though, some people think what they know isn't important or people wouldn't be interested in buying an book about what they know. You'd be surprised.

There are people who are searching for your knowledge right now, in some cases what people know isn‘t readily available online and a large group of people are just waiting to grab up your knowledge bundled inside an ebook.

Many ebook authors write about a wide range of subjects such as photography, architecture, travel, collecting and any other subject you can think of and they make money doing it too.

If you're thinking of writing an ebook don’t keep your knowledge to yourself, make your knowledge sell. But before selling that knowledge to thousands of potential customers you need to consider some important points:

1. Everyone is an Expert

There are a variety of topics you can write about. Anyone can write about virtually anything, even though you can write about anything write about what you know. Everyone has an ebook inside of them because everyone knows about a certain topic. Stick to your area of expertise.

2. Research Your Audience

You can write the best ebook on your topic but if no one is searching for that topic online you won't sell one ebook. Before picking a topic asks yourself:

-Will people buy this information on the internet or opt to buy it at a physical bookstore instead?

-Is there a ready and waiting market?

-If so, how can these people find your ebook?

To make sure people fid your ebook, do keyword research with various tools such as Overture and Wordtracker. The key is to optimize your ebook for a keyword which people are searching for in the search engines.

3. Target Your Niche With Precision

Target a tightly focused niche in your topic area. Don’t try to target everyone on the Internet. For example if you want to target people who are interested in gardening don't just write an ebook about gardening in general; there's thousand's of ebook's on how to garden out there. Make your ebook one of a kind by writing an ebook about preventing animals from eating your flowers. Providing a solution to a problem will get you more sales than presenting a general overview of your topic. Many people online are looking for solutions to a problem. Provide them the solution in the form of your ebook

Targeting your niche market is twice as easy when you are a member of your target market. Writing about what you know also makes the marketing process easier because you know exactly where to go to promote your ebook and where your audience is.

To gain an edge over any competition consider taking promotional methods offline. Put up flyers in locations you know your target market will be at or around. You can even team up with local small business owners and ask them if they will give away flyers for a commission of the profits. If you plan on teaming up with physical business make sure you register a different URL so you can track their buyers or else it will become an accounting nightmare when it comes time to send them their commissions.

4. Write For Your Readers, Not for Yourself

One of the other keys to a successful ebook is one which is reader friendly. Readers of your ebook could care less about you, they are looking for information and solutions about your topic- and they want these solutions fast. It’s fine to include a few sentences about yourself and/or your website in the very beginning or ending of your ebook, but going on and on about yourself will waste your readers time and most likely annoy them.

Also, Don’t list each and every little thing you know about your subject in your ebook. All too often ebook authors try to cram everything they know into their ebook. Readers don’t want to waste time reading over unnecessary details. Write about the most important parts of your subject and get to the point of each part.

5. Spell Check

Most readers will not be happy if they bought an ebook filled with spelling mistakes. Your website visitors aren't likely to be English professors but if your copy is filled with spelling mistakes your visitors will flee and you won't get many sales. Multiple spelling mistakes in copy or an ebook will also ruin your long-term credibility. Who would want to buy products from someone who can’t even spell? Make sure another person reviews your work for any spelling mistakes; spell check doesn't catch all your mistakes.

With these five tips you should be on you’re way to producing a successful and profitable ebook.

EBooks Are Promotional Powerhouses

by: John Foley

Ebooks are part of the new frontier of cyberspace.

They are an entirely new medium for sharing marketing information, ideas, techniques, and expert knowledge.

Each day the number of people accessing the Internet grows, causing the exposure of your ebook to increase incrementally. It's obvious why electronic self-publishing has become so popular so quickly.

The publishing industry, I hope, does not intend to forever banish the printed word to the dustbin of history. Books in print have their own special qualities and merits, and the world would be diminished by their disappearance.

Having said that, let's look at what makes ebooks so important and so unique. Ebooks have certain abilities and qualities that other mediums do not possess.

For example, ebooks are fairly easy to produce, and their production cost is inexpensive. Just think about it: you don't need a publisher, an agent, a printing press, offset film, ink, paper, or even a distributor.

You just need a great concept, the ability to write it or to hire a writer, and the right software.

Additionally, ebooks are easily and rapidly distributed online. They are also easily updated; they do not require a second print run. All you need is to go into your original creation and modify the text or graphics. Because of this flexibility, ebooks can change and grow as fast as you can type.

Ebooks are also immediately obtainable. You don't have to go to a bookstore or search through endless titles at an online bookstore. All you have to do is download it from a website, and presto! It's on your computer, ready to be read.

Ebooks are interactive. This is one of the most unique and specific qualities that ebooks offer. You can add surveys that need to be filled out, order forms for customers to purchase your products or goods, sound and video that draw your reader into the virtual world of your ebook, even direct links to relevant sites that will expand your ebook outward. The potential is virtually limitless.

Ebooks have a particular kind of permanence that other mediums do not possess. Television shows and radio shows air once, and then may rerun a few times. Ebooks remain on your computer for as long as your choose, and they can be read and reread whenever you choose to. They can even be printed out and stored on the shelves of your traditional home library.

Another wonderful quality is that ebooks have no barriers in terms of publishing. You don't need to go through the endless process of submitting your manuscript over and over again, and then once you land an agent, having the agent submit your manuscript over and over again. Nor do you have to shell out thousands of dollars for printing a self-published book. All ebooks require is a writer and appropriate software.

Figure out your market, write your book, post it on your website, and with the right business savvy, your audience will come to you.

Finally, you have creative control over your ebook.

You don?t have to compromise with an editor or the publishing trends of the time. You don't have to haggle with a designer or wait for copyedited galleys to arrive by snail mail. You are in complete control of the design and the text.

How to Use ebooks for Marketing and Promotion

There are innumerable ways to use ebooks to promote your business and drive quality traffic to your website. Once posted on your site, you can turn them into a daily course, which brings your customer back to read the next chapter. You can use them as a free gift for making a purchase or for filling out a survey. Put your ebook on a disc, and you will have an innovative brochure. Blow your competition away by inserting the disc into your sales packages.

The most effective marketing products are those that are unique. Copyright your ebook, and immediately, you have a powerful tool that you, and you alone, can offer to the public. People will have to visit your site to acquire your ebook, which increases the flow of quality traffic and the potential of sales and affiliate contacts.

Make sure that you keep your ebook current. Update it frequently as the market and trends change. Add new advice and techniques to show your prospects how your goods or services can enrich their lives. By constantly keeping abreast of new trends and techniques, you can continue to see profits from your ebook for years after your original creation.

Another phenomenal advantage of ebooks is that you can test their marketing potential without putting out hardly any cash at all. You can even produce an ebook one copy at a time, each time you receive an order, eliminating the need for storage and inventory. By this method, you can gauge the saleablity of your ebook, and make adjustments as necessary until the orders start pouring in. Ebooks allow you to learn about your market and customer habits and motivation over a period of time, without risking your precious financial resources. They also provide you with an invaluable way to gather marketing information, which you can use in many different facets of your business.

Use your ebook to discover what the specific goals and problems are in your specific industry. Then figure out how to solve these problems, and publish an ebook with this invaluable information. This will increase the value of your business, upgrade your reputation, and get you known as an expert in your field.

You can extend the value of single ebook by breaking the book down into chapters for a serial course, into special reports available on your website, or into audio or visual tapes. Ebooks can be broken down into several different promotional materials by excepting some of the articles and using them to promote your product. You can include a catalog in your ebook to promote all the products or services you sell. You can include a thank-you note for reading your book and an invitation to download a trial version of your product. Or you can include a form for your audience to contact you for further information or with questions, thereby building your business relationships and your mailing list.

Using ebooks in this manner helps to cut the cost of individually producing separate promotional materials.

You can use a single ebook to entice new prospects and to sell new products to your current customers.

No other medium has this kind of flexibility and ability for expansion. Think of your ebook like a spider spinning a beautiful and intricate web. Now go and create that web, and see how many customers and prospects you can catch!
