Look, Mr. Sullivan clearly has what it wants to do with his less epic fantasy series, less length, less jargon, less contention and above all, more accessible. Almost all negative critics lash out at him to do so. The first book is very good, and it was a pleasure to be able to digest the volume within a reasonable period of time. I am fed up 900 adventures page "thrilling fantasy." I will give this author of push on me time and provide just one opinion that others should see how this turns all out them at the point where we reach the sixth book. The characters are more pleasant. My quibble is that the "Church" is too easy of a villain. But time will tell that each book takes place. Five stars for a good start. To learn more...
